Award-winning contemporary jewellery that combines a minimal aesthetic with splashes of colour and clusters of detail.

Inspired by repetition and small details in the everyday (from spots on the pavement to stripy steps at a railway station), I use my sketchbook to draw initial designs, shapes and compositions. These then develop further as I work intuitively with the materials – it is often the process of making that inspires me. I also enjoy making new work to a theme or for call for entries as this leads to new paths, ideas and work that I might not otherwise have discovered. Rather than working to specific jewellery collections I let my work develop naturally and spontaneously, making predominantly one-off pieces and only a few production items.

Emily is a contemporary jeweller based in London, England, who has exhibited across the UK as well as increasingly in Europe and the US. She studied Three Dimensional Crafts (wood, metal, ceramics and plastics) at the University of Brighton, followed by a year long residency at Bishopsland Educational Trust. Her work spans one of a kind pieces, project pieces and small production series. Emily is fascinated by materials and currently works with laminate, wood and silver to create colourful, highly crafted jewellery.
