Biography

I have been surrounded by art all of my life. My father is a potter and sculptor and my mother was an avid if not obsessive gardener and writer. Both have been important creative influences and have taught me about the passion of expression in one's art, work, and family. The jewelry and sculpture I create are a reflection of what is happening in my life just as it was for both of my parents. The materials I use are sterling silver, semi precious stones and pearls and wood. I hand pierce, fuse and/or cast, and form silver components. I then drill, solder and polish the piece. The final phase is adorning either the jewelry item or the wood sculpture with stones and pearls. I received my BFA in metals at the School of American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1992 and currently live on the Connecticut coast with my husband and two daughters.
