Metals Teaching Artist

We at BCAT are looking for aTeaching Artist for the Metals Studio.This person will be a professional artist who works in our in-house studio and also does art projects with teachers in the local schools.  The goal of the metals program is to expose students to professional artists, inspiring them through the arts. The after school high school program teaches students the skills necessary to create production pieces as well as creative pieces. Duties will include creating arts integrated projects and lessons with a classroom teachers in the local schools. Instruct and mentor high school students in an after school studio program . Take students on field trips, Prepare and install exhibits, host art receptions, workshops and plan special projects. Clean and stock the metal arts studio.Oversee two resident artist to assist in studio and teaching project duties. Conduct student recruitment in the schools. Other duties as assigned.   This position is a full time position with working hours of 10AM until 6PM  Monday through Friday. Some weekend events  are required as well. Housing, health care and a salary commensurate with experience is provided. A Bachelor's degree is required but a Master's Degree is preferred. Teaching experience recommended.Our mission at BCAT is to introduce and encourage the community and students through the arts.
