2017 Volunteer Recognition Award

Don FriedlichThe Board of Directors is happy to announce the 2017 Volunteer Recognition Award recipient is Don Friedlich. Since 1987, Don Friedlich’s continued vision and investment has strengthened the core functionality of SNAG. After completing his tenure on the Nominations & Elections Committee in 1989, he served on the Editorial Advisory Committee for Metalsmith 1990-94. He served on the hiring committee for a new editor in 1992. In 1993, he worked with the committee to conceive and develop the new Metalsmith Exhibition in Print issue. Don served as chair of the Editorial Advisory Committee in 1995 and co-curated Exhibition in Print: Studio Multiples in 1997. Read more>>>

Don will be recognized for his award at the Membership Meeting on Saturday May 27th during the New Orleans conference. Please be sure to congratulate him and attend that event!

2016 Volunteer Recognition Award

recycled road signs ArtistThe SNAG Board has awarded the 2016 Volunteer Recognition Award to Boris Bally. Started in 2015 by the SNAG Board of Directors, the Award recognizes and publicly acknowledges a volunteer’s contribution to SNAG.

Boris has been an enthusiastic and generous SNAG volunteer for many years. He has served on the Board of Directors and the Editorial Advisory Committee. Boris has participated in many SNAG community-led projects, most recently his “Ransom” project where he sold 100 of his brooches and asked the purchasers to take selfies wearing the piece they bought. He then donated a portion of the sales to SNAG as his personal way of giving back!

2015 Volunteer Recognition Award

Harriete Estel BermanInspired by the numerous volunteers who dedicate countless hours to SNAG every year, the Board of Directors created The Volunteer Recognition Award to publicly acknowledge and honor volunteer contributions to the highest extent.
