Stone setting has been utilized in some of the earliest known jewelry. There are thousands of variations based on a few different techniques. Juried by George Sawyer and Laura Wood, this collection of work expands to jewelry, objects, vessels, and sculpture.

Call for Entries: (Up)Setting the Stone

(UP)SETTING_logoCall for Entries
Deadline extended to September 30, 2016

As the third juried member exhibition in the We Are SNAG series, (Up)Setting the Stone is an exhibition looking for your interpretation of settings. Stonesetting has been utilized in some of the earliest known jewelry. There are thousands of variations based on a few different techniques. Whether used traditionally with gemstones, applied to new materials, or even explored as a concept, this exhibition focuses on the setting. Submissions such as jewelry, objects, vessels, sculpture, and architecture will be considered, but are not limited to these categories.

Juried by George Sawyer and Laura Wood, only images of works completed by current SNAG members will be evaluated.

WE ARE SNAG: Contemporary Smiths

Contemporary-Smiths logoA virtual exhibition celebrating the breadth of our field and membership.

 

From “blacksmith” to “goldsmith,” “silversmith” to “bladesmith,” the term “smith” denotes connotations of skill and mastery. Juried by Sue Amendolara, Greg Gehner, and Tom Muir, this online exhibition embraces the work of contemporary smiths and highlights some of the extraordinary works created by members of SNAG.
