The Museum of London has opened a major new exhibition investigating the secrets of the Cheapside Hoard. This extraordinary and priceless treasure of 16th and 17th century jewels and gemstones was discovered in 1912, buried in a cellar on Cheapside in the City of London.
SNAG has meant so much to me since I attended my first conference in 1996. I have made both personal and professional connections at conferences. I have seen work that has inspired me and heard lectures I still think of years later.
Recently, I was asked to conduct a workshop for 8-10 year olds. In order to illustrate the process of casting, I felt pewter was a good choice for simple pendants. I thought about what other materials could be used that were kid friendly, inexpensive, easily obtained, and quickly formed.
