Art Smith Scholarship Fund at FIT

Named in honor of NYC-based Black jewelry designer Art Smith (1917-1982), a group of 50 jewelry industry brands have joined forces to fund a $50,000 endowed scholarship at The New York Fashion Institute (FIT). It will create scholarships and mentorships to support Black students attending the school’s Jewelry Design program. Learn more

2020 SNAG Election Information

The SNAG membership elects leaders for the coming years. All SNAG members have the right to vote. Online voting begins August 10th. Information about the candidates is available on the website. By-Law changes will also be up for vote.

2020 Educational Endowment Scholarships
SNAG awards three student scholarships with at least one award given to a student that is currently an undergraduate. These scholarships are for tuition towards the students’ degree granting programs.

The sixth juried member online exhibition in the We Are SNAG Membership Series.
2019 marked 50 years since the inception of the Society of North American Goldsmiths. From traditional goldsmiths to alternative material-smiths, from bench jewelers to educators, SNAG’s membership spans an extensive population of makers. The 2019 virtual membership exhibition celebrates the diversity and growth of the organization over the last 50 years. Juried by Sienna Patti and Taisha Carrington.

2020 SNAG Student Exhibition Awards
SNAG’s 2020 Juried Student Exhibition, entitled “Grit to Gold,” focuses on the future of the field. Due to the cancellation of SNAG’s 2020 conference, the exhibition is only being shown online this year. Exhibition juried by Leila Cartier and Lindsay Ketterer Gates.
