SNAG is pleased to announce its 2021 conference Inspire/Aspire: A Virtual Convening.
2020 marked a significant and difficult chapter in the organization’s history. But out of those challenges new perspectives and opportunities have risen. As the world begins to turn the corner on the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic, SNAG is confident and eager to mark the 50th anniversary of SNAG’s first conference in 1970 with its first virtual conference.
SNAG staff and volunteers worked incredibly hard to make the 2020 conference, Grit to Gold: Future Fifty, diverse, vibrant and rich. Unfortunately, that conference was unable to take place. In many ways, the theme of the 2020 conference rings even more true in 2021. “Grit” interpreted as toughness — a stick-to-itiveness characteristic — has the ability to yield “Golden” results. This year, SNAG is eager to maintain much of the 2020 thematic programming while also honoring and reflecting on the new norms of our world today. Although the conference will look different this year, SNAG is enthused by what a virtual platform has to offer around broadening the access, inclusivity and diversity of our community. It will include variations on many favorite programs:
- Three days of speakers and panel discussions
- Exhibition in Motion
- Virtual Exhibition Crawl and virtual tours of in-person shows
- Student Exhibition
- Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony honoring Eleanor Moty
- Virtual Vendor and Educational Institution booths
- Education Dialogue
