Have an old tool that’s seen better days but is still in good enough shape to help out a beginner? Been saving that whatchamacallit that you thought you would put to good use but never have? Consider donating stuff that’s currently collecting dust in your studio to the 2019 Tool in the Hat, where it is guaranteed to become someone’s newest treasure?
How it Works:
Donated items are placed on tables, each with a corresponding container. During the conference, you can browse the items on the tables and if you want to take one home, place your ticket(s) in that container for a chance to win that specific item. At the end of the event, a ticket will be drawn for each item and the winners will be announced. The more tickets you put in, the better your chances are to win!
Tickets will be sold on-site
- $5 for 6 tickets
- $10 for 13 tickets
- $20 for 25 tickets.

WHAT TO DONATE:
One person’s clutter is another person’s treasure! Clear out some space in your studio and pay it forward. Consider tools (old or new) and extra materials that you may no longer need.
Suggestions for donations include small parts containers, saw blades, burs, pliers, files, hammers, chisels, awls, wire cutters, center punches, needle files, clamps, polishing buffs, small anvils, rasps, stone setting tools, chasing tools, and small bench-top vises. Materials can also be donated, including useful pieces of scrap metal, hardwood, plastics, wire, findings and sandpaper. Books are also welcome.
*SNAG reserves the right to place any donated items in either the Silent Auction or Tool in the Hat events, as deemed appropriate.
HOW TO DONATE:
Fill out one online Donation Form for EACH item you wish to donate. This form helps us accurately track your information and the information about your donation. We will have tablets with access to this form available for on-site donation, but if you know what you are donating, you can save time by filling it out in advance.
Drop off your donation on site:
Drop off donations on-site at the conference at the Silent Auction site located inside the Vendor Room on Wednesday, May 22nd from 3:00-6:00 pm.
Ship your donation:
If you prefer to ship your item(s) in advance, please include a printed copy of your online donation form and ship to our shipping liaison using this label. 2019 Shipping Label – Silent Auction/TitH
