My work explores the use of waste plastic as a raw material. The process of taking discarded items and altering them into something precious is symbolic and paradoxical. My intention is to intimately link thematic and material inconsistencies to shift and play with conventional points of view.

Bridget Catchpole is a jewellery artist who lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Catchpole upcycles non-recyclable and found plastics and uses it as a raw material in her one-of-a-kind pieces. Currently, her work looks at patterns of plastic waste from throwaway culture and how is has become a ubiquitous presence in the natural environment.
