Résumé

With its beauty and flexibility, Argentium Sterling Silver is still Mary’s favored material for jewelry, but other metals, such as gold, and natural and glass beads still make an appearance in her work at Cinzilla Design. The many classes taken in diverse jewelry subjects keeps the work ever changing as new techniques and ideas are incorporated. This versatility of materials and methods insures work that continues to evolve.

Cinzilla Design originated on the East Coast under another name, selling Argentium Sterling Silver jewelry made primarily for the wholesale market. A move to California prompted a name change and a switch to retail sales and a chance to make more unique and one of a kind pieces. The work is handmade by Mary Partlan, the owner, who began jewelry making in 2006.

Arts and crafts, bead work and metalwork are all part of Mary’s and her family’s history, one she is delighted to continue. An ardent student, Mary continues to take classes in many related fields, incorporating them into her work.

Jewelry classes, as time permits, at:

Fashion Institute of Technology, Manhattan, NY
92 St Y, Manhattan, NY
Metalwerx, Waltham, MA
Revere Academy, San Francisco, CA
Mendocino Art Center, CA
Palo Alto Art Center, CA
