Biography

“The atmosphere, the earth, the water, the water cycle – those things are good gifts. The ecosystems, the ecosphere, those are good gifts. We have to regard them as gifts because we couldn’t make them. We have to regard them as good gifts because we couldn’t live without them.”- Wendell Berry

My jewelry is in tribute to holistic life cycles, intra-nature relationships, and nature-human connectivity.

I strive to capture the intricacies and beauty found within nature and apply them to a contemporary jewelry setting, preserving them through a variety of metalsmithing techniques, adorning them while adorning the wearer, putting them in a new context.

The lines of a jaw bone are complex and delicate, the skeleton of a seedpod, which held within her hundreds of seeds, is now veins of lace. As a maker, I feel that there is nothing that I could fabricate that could come close to capturing the grace and essence of life that could compare of these forms I find in nature. Instead of creating something completely new, I chose to use my hand to highlight and pay homage to these objects in a way that personally speaks to me.
