Profile picture of Joshua Kosker

Joshua Kosker is a contemporary artist/jeweler and educator currently living and working in western Pennsylvania. As a maker, he is interested in how objects shape experiences and, in turn, how actions imprint meaning on the material world. Exploring concepts of time, place, materiality, object and the body, Kosker’s research fuses traditional craft media and processes with unconventional materials and modes of making. Josh’s work has been exhibited in various group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, and has recently been included in several notable publications such as To The Point: Pin Mechanisms and Brooch Back DesignNarrative Jewelry: Tales from the Toolbox, Autor Magazine, American Craft Magazine and Repair and Renewal: Making Things Whole Again, the 2017 Metalsmith Magazine juried “Exhibition in Print.” Recently a finalist for the Elizabeth R. Raphael Founder's Prize, Kosker earned his MFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Bowling Green State University and his BFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
