Statement

Jewelry, the scale and function, provides a perfect framework for my curiosity to run wild. I am compelled by material exploration and by pushing the limits of my own creativity. As a maker rooted in craft, I am trying to balance that discipline so ingrained, and so challenging, with the desire to spontaneously create with abandon.
Above all else, this work is visually compelling and fun, and like so much art jewelry today, defies expectations.  It is packed with color, dynamic forms, and non-traditional materials. The work is full of visual contradictions. It is slick and contemporary, glowing with neon, juxtaposed with darkened, rough silver. It is sprinkled with old, worn trade beads, and Swarovski crystals. It is both tribal and modern.
At the heart of this work, is the very priviledged act of play.
