Résumé

The Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery & School of Art is a not-for-profit art center dedicated to the visual arts whose mission is to inspire, engage and connect our community through a vibrant school of art, unique exhibitions and diverse special events.

For more than 50 years the Lighthouse ArtCenter, a member-supported nonprofit organization, has provided artistic programing and cultural opportunities to people in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. We offer engaging exhibitions, cultural programs, a dynamic School of Art and diverse outreach activities.

Founded in 1964 by a group of eight artists and Christopher Norton, the son of the founders of the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida, the ArtCenter features multiple galleries, a School of Art, the Gallery Gift Shop and an Art Supply Store at our two-building campus in Tequesta, Florida.

Over 20,000 visitors enjoy our innovative and inspiring exhibitions throughout the year and educational guided tours of our exhibitions are offered for adults and youth. We host stimulating lectures, enriching day trips, monthly receptions and unique special events.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter School of Art offers classes and workshops for children and adults, beginner through professional levels in ceramics, drawing, encaustic, jewelry, painting (acrylics, oils, and watercolors), photography, Photoshop, portrait and figure instruction, sculpture and more. Special needs classes are also offered for adults and children.

For over 45 years we have offered educational summer ArtCamps for children ages 6-12, instructing and inspiring children to create and explore the exciting world of art.  Scholarships are offered to children in need.

An Art Outreach program provides educational art experiences for underserved populations and communities, where an art teacher and art supplies are sent on location to teach disabled, seniors, nursing home residents, special needs populations and low-income area schools where art programs have been eliminated. Funds are raised throughout the year to provide this program free of charge to the recipients.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter has been enhancing lives through art and has built a community of artists and art lovers who gather together to share the joy and wonder of art. Be a Part of the Arts at the Lighthouse ArtCenter!
