Human beings are deeply connected to the world through materials. Primal instincts drive people to utilize their surroundings to create tools for survival. Jewelry is no different. Since the beginning of human history, jewelry has served not only as ornamentations and symbols for social functions, but also instruments holding the relationship between conscious minds and the tangible world. Although fundamentally aesthetic, jewelry bears the capacity for people to exercise thoughts, emotions, and contemplations. As a jeweler, I think through materials and forms, while creating jewelry that reflects my comprehension of our society. Inspired by tradition, I aim to enable mindful encounter between subject and object.
