Profile picture of Sylvie Lissa Alusitz

As an artist, Sylvie aims to blur the distinction between wearable jewelry and art. Each piece she creates is a work of art that has a physical relationship to the body, which bridges the gap between jewelry and sculpture. She draws inspiration from all areas of life and uses it to move beyond the traditional. Each piece Sylvie creates is a learning experience that she uses to move forward and grow as an artist and a person.

Sylvie grew up in Westchester, NY, in close proximity to NYC. Under the guidance of her artist parents, she was encouraged to explore art and was able to foster her creative skills and mind. During high school Sylvie participated in the Young Artist Residency at Art Institute of Boston, allowing her to experience metal as a medium. From there, she journeyed to Syracuse University to study metalsmithing and jewelry, eventually transferring to Rochester Institute of Technology to allow her art to flourish.
