My designs are abstract interpretations of ongoing interactions with the natural world I inhabit. Decaying leaves, entangled vines and eroding streams exhibit the raw edges of organic matter that inspire my jewelry designs and serve as the foundation of my creative process. Voids and open spaces repeatedly emerge in my work as I collect and compose from what is cast away, weathered, and a shell of its former state. As I manipulate and color metal and found objects, I seek to restore their natural elegance, revise their manmade textures and create a new whole. I seek to build wearable pieces that contemplate the human form while paying homage to the textures, shapes and color palettes found along local riverbanks and woodlands.
