Chain Making 101

August 24-26, 2018

This workshop will introduce participants to new and innovative concepts that relate to the chain. Each student will learn a variety of chain-making techniques using both wire and sheet metal and non-traditional materials. Everyone will make several samples and walk away with a minimum of two finished pieces. This course will challenge participants to make works that push the boundaries of traditional chains by manipulating line, repetition, pattern, and negative space. There will be daily demonstrations, projects, and one-on-one time.
