MFA openings at the University of Kansas. GTAs & Scholarships available. This individualized studio program emphasizes creative research through independent work in an atmosphere of ongoing critical discussion. The 3-yr program provides rigorous studio and academic experience exploring a range of traditional and contemporary topics related to the discipline. The program emphasizes a high level of experimentation, production and critical inquiry. It fosters a diverse, supportive community that shares a broad range of approaches to making. Metalsmithing and Jewelry faculty include Jon Havener, Gina Westergard and Sunyoung Cheong. In addition to the 3,800 sq. ft. traditional metals studio we have a computer lab with PC computers equipped with Matrix and Rhino CAD software, REVO CNC milling machine, Makerbot 3D printer and a Solus DLP 3D printer.
