#mokumeganeinprogress SNAG pop-up show opportunity
CALL FOR ENTRY
DEADLINE MARCH 3RD
Snag show opportunity:
Jurors Anne Wolf and Francesca Urciuoli are pleased to announce that the application for the exhibition #mokumeganeinprogress is now open. We are seeking examples of creative, innovative, and flawlessly crafted mokume gane for #Mokumeganeinprogress, part of Adorned Spaces, a SNAG 2020 exhibition featuring twenty-four individually-curated pop-up galleries. All jewelry and metalwork is eligible - work should be created solely by the entrant, especially the patterning of the mokume gane.
With this exhibition, we aim to show different approaches to the Mokume Gane technique and its uses by different artists around the world. It is interesting to see how, since the discovery of this technique, metalsmiths have applied and further developed the technique in their work, coming up with new machines to work with it and developing ever more complex and unique patterns.
We are also pleased and excited to announce that James Binnion and Hiroko Sato-Pijanowski are confirmed participants and special guests of the exhibition, as they are a symbol of the progress and development of this technique. The other artists will be chosen to show the range of mokume gane around the world as it changes and develops over time.
