Metamorphic Mokume with Anne Wolf
Int-Adv Metals Class with Anne Wolf
March 22, 2020
Take mokume gane patterning to a whole new level - beyond stamping, twisting or even chiseling. At a fundamental level, developing mokume gane patterns is analogous to the geologic processes of uplift, metamorphosis, and erosion. This brand-new class reveals unexpected ways to pattern Anne has discovered over the years. Our hammers, stamps and other tools will metamorphosize the blank mokume gane sheet; the patterns will begin to appear as our files erode away the disturbed layers. The focus will be on creating unique patterned sheet that can be used for later incorporation into jewelry, box lids, etc. Best for students who have taken at least one mokume gane class, or are experienced in the jewelry/metals field.
Anne has been teaching jewelry/metalwork classes and creating custom mokume-gane wedding rings, jewelry and one-of-a-kind metal art objects since 1991. Her work has been shown across the U.S. and in international venues such as the Deutsches Goldschmiedehaus in Hanau, Germany and the Tsubame Industrial Materials Museum in Tsubame, Japan.
