Portraits in Silver with Douglas Pryor

Portraits are an absolute passion of mine, so get ready to dive deep into studying the human figure through sheet metal sculpture. I’ll be showing how to plot out faces with raising so the metal doesn’t rip in those difficult deep spots such as the nose. We’ll be going through some basic complementary drawing skills (of which is a must to take the class) to help transfer your design from 2d to 3d. When to work hot versus working cold in pitch. And covering how to gather the metal in layers so as to capture and relay the information from skeletal, muscular, soft tissues, and hair. I do recommend some time behind the hammer and chisel before taking this course, it is the more advanced program I offer. Drawing as a prerequisite skill set is the minimum needed to take this course. If you are concerned about this then please reach out to me at
