Assistant Professor in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing - 4-month Sessional Appointment
NSCAD University invites applications for a 4-month (Jan-April 2022) Sessional Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Jewellery Design/ Metalsmithing. Teaching assignments include the following 2 courses; Intro to Hollowware & Hollowware II: Object Design, plus 1 of the following courses based on individual expertise; imMateriality:Digital Object Making, Jewellery II: Methods or Lost Wax Casting.
We seek a candidate with knowledge and expertise in metalworking specific to Hollowware and Jewellery. Must be proficient in silversmithing design processes and techniques such as; forging, sinking, raising, planishing, anti-clastic forming, patination and fabrication of larger objects.
Other areas of expertise may include:
- Jewellery Production methods
- Wax Carving, Casting & Mold-making
- Design for Hollowware/Flatware manufacturing
- 3D Digital Design w/ Rhino 3D and 3D Printing
