2019 Exhibition in Motion Call for Entries

EiM_featureAurum: The Golden Year
SNAG will celebrate its 50th Anniversary next year at the 2019 Chicago conference, The Loop: Coming Full Circle. The Exhibition in Motion (EiM) committee is seeking works that reflect this milestone. The EiM is a runway-type live exhibition event that takes place at the conference.

How do you see gold? Glitz, glam, indulgent, excessive, subtle or even demure? Gold goes beyond a material, it is a color, a signifier and a feeling. Translate the idea of gold literally, or let it transport you to a golden place.

This exhibition seeks to explore the notion of “ephemerality” in its widest definition, showcasing work that explores transience, is comprised of impermanent materials, incorporates memorabilia and “ephemera,” and/or exists through time-based performance and photography.

SNAG’s 2018 Exhibition in Motion Accepting Proposals

Objects of Protection

2016 EiMThe 2018 Exhibition in Motion committee is seeking proposals for works that offer protection, defensively or offensively. We are encouraging non-traditional proposals that push boundaries or have yet to be seen in a previous Exhibition in Motion. This includes hollowware and blacksmithing work. Unwearable objects welcome. Collaborations and class projects are also encouraged.

The event takes place May 26th, 2018 from 7:30-9:30pm at the SNAG conference in Portland, Oregon.
