SNAG’s 2018 Exhibition in Motion Accepting Proposals

Objects of Protection

2016 EiMThe 2018 Exhibition in Motion committee is seeking proposals for works that offer protection, defensively or offensively. We are encouraging non-traditional proposals that push boundaries or have yet to be seen in a previous Exhibition in Motion. This includes hollowware and blacksmithing work. Unwearable objects welcome. Collaborations and class projects are also encouraged.

The event takes place May 26th, 2018 from 7:30-9:30pm at the SNAG conference in Portland, Oregon.

2017 SNAG Student Exhibition Awards

Nexus: The 2017 Juried Student Exhibition highlighted student work that challenges traditional and non-traditional ways of working using new and old materials, techniques, and ideas by the next generation of makers in the metalsmithing and jewelry field. The exhibition was held in May during the SNAG conference in New Orleans.

New this year, SNAG presented awards. Congratulations to the winners:

2017 SNAG Raffle

NexusThe Raffle supports SNAG’s Educational Endowment Fund.

SNAG’s 2017 raffle will be held during the Nexus conference in New Orleans, May 24-27, 2017.

2017 Silent Auction

SNAG’s Silent Auction looks for items of a certain value that people have come to expect to bid on during every conference: Art books, jewelry, findings, metals, gemstones, small handmade objects, and brand new tools are most welcome. Please donate new, never used items only, unless their value is increased by their age, as in the case of antiques.

What to Donate:
Anyone can donate! Your items will go to a good home and you’ll be sharing with your community. Please consider clearing out some space in your studio and donating items such as:

-Art books
-Jewelry
-Rare Tools
-Findings
-Metals
-Gemstones
-Small Handmade Objects
-Brand New Tools
