SNAGneXt 2016 Education Dialogue
Student and Educator Initiative
In May 2016, the Education Dialogue held during the SNAGneXt conference addressed some current questions facing many of us. It brought together different levels of educators and students from many aspects of the jewelry and metals field. This included those involved with teaching studios, art and craft centers, high schools, colleges and universities. The event featured small group sessions to brainstorm and share ideas. We have posted the discussion group answers here.
We want to share some fabulous images from this year’s Exhibition in Motion!
The event took place in May at SNAGneXt in Asheville, NC. A tradition at SNAG’s annual conference, the Exhibition in Motion is a live fashion show and fundraising event featuring models wearing cutting edge jewelry.
This year’s theme was Xchange: Fashioning Intersections. The idea was collaboration, calibration and cooperation, where the pieces were made in partnerships and celebrate large scale sculpture worn on the body. The 2016 coordinators were Matt Lambert and Louise Perrone (pictured at right).
Enjoy these images of some of the pieces. Photographs taken by Micah McKenzie.
